A new month is upon us and while summer may be coming to an end for some with school back in session, the events around town donā€™t stop!

Speaking of kids, a must-do event is the Rubber Ducky Regatta. On August 6th, thousands of rubber ducks will splash into the Mobile River to see whoā€™s duck will cross the finish line first. You can adopt as many ducks as you want. Prizes are given for the top 3. Itā€™s also for a good cause! The Rubber Ducky Regatta benefits the Ronald McDonald House in the Mobile.

For adults only, Bienville Bites Food Tour is hosting a 1920ā€™s Prohibition Murder Mystery food tour every Saturday in August. Step back in time for an evening of bootlegging, murder, blackmail, and deceit while visiting real speakeasies along with food from local restaurants and Prohibition themed drinks!

Maybe youā€™ve got Mardi Gras on your mind, it is Mobile after all. Callaghanā€™s Irish Social Club is having a ā€œHalf Way to Joe Cain Dayā€ party on Saturday, August 20. Live music, good food, and a Mardi Gras atmosphere in August will surely have you ready to let the good times roll in August!

Letā€™s see what the rest of the year has in store!

ā¤ A Do Some Good Highlight

Established in 1990, the Alabama Coastal Foundation expanded its scope in 2012, becoming its first statewide nonprofit. Alabamaā€™s coastal ecology is at risk because of a lack of cooperation and education.

The Alabama Coastal Foundation (ACF) was able to strike a good balance. Between conserving valuable coastal resources and meeting the demands of the rapidly expanding economy.

Individuals may play an important part in conserving the environment. Our coastal lifestyle is also to benefit if we seize the opportunities they provide.

The ACF aims to build bridges between government, business, industry, nonprofits, and the general public. Their cooperation in solving coastal conservation challenges is possible because of this cooperation.

Alabama Coastal Foundation led the Alabama Oyster Shell Recycling and the Share the Beach Sea Turtle Conservation initiatives. They also educate the public and give our volunteers engaging activities to do in their spare time.

Podcast interviews are still being released for Do Some Good Mobile --- the digital version is live now.
