Welcome, September!
Hopefully this month brings us some cooler temperatures to go along with all of the events happening around town. Here’s some fun things you can expect this September.
ArtWalk this Friday night features a celebration of National Beauty & Barber Week plus National Yoga Month. Speaking of barbers, have you seen the newest barber shop downtown? Beard and Blade is a hip, new spot connected to Knucklebones Coffee right across the street from the courthouse (we should add them to our top coffee shops article!) Go check them out while you're exploring ArtWalk this weekend!
Speaking of art, on September 16th the Mobile Arts Council is hosting the 10th annual Throwdown at the USS Alabama with live art, food from Heroes and The Royal Scam, plus music and fun to support the arts in Mobile.
This month at the Saenger is packed with popular shows. Joe Gatto, comedy star from the hit show, Impractical Jokers is live on September 9th. Grammy-award winner, Zach Williams will perform on September 14th and the Mobile Symphony features Scheherazade on September 24th and 25th.
Let’s go September!

Founded in response to a shortage of services and resources for foster families, the organization now supports over 250 households and more than 700 children.
Approximately 2,000 children’s goods are distributed each month from their foster care center in Mobile, at 3251 Old Shell Road.
Fun-filled activities and supportive services are also part of the annual offerings of Fostering Together.
Donations of new and slightly used clothes, shoes, baby gear, and other supplies for newborns to teenagers are gratefully accepted by Fostering Together.
