Mobile Rundown News
Hey Friend,
Wild that it’s September 11 — I was in 9th grade — like most of you, I can remember exactly where I was when it happened.
We’ve got a good one for you today.
But first, welcome to the 278 readers who have joined the crew over the last 30 days 😄
In the latest episode of The Bienville Buzzz 🐝apparently, we're turning into activists!
This is what we had on our agenda…
Getting USA and Tulane to play in an annual Mardi Gras game (Battle of the Jester?) // Maybe non-sanctioned // Possibly find a date for ESPN Gameday to easily cover (Mardi Gras Park?)
An everchanging graffiti wall where anyone can create art at any time (tune in next week, as we’ll ask Lucy from The Mobile Arts Council what her thoughts are).
Closing off LODA (Lower Dauphin St.) to motor vehicles.
**This one will probably bring us the most heat, but is also the one we’re most excited to get folks on to chat with us about…
Ok, here's what you can expect in today's Rundown...

🪅Do Some Good
The Throwdown is the Mobile Arts Council’s largest annual fundraising event. Proceeds go towards supporting their mission: to enrich the quality of life in the greater Mobile area through increasing accessibility to the arts and promoting a vibrant cultural community.
For the past eleven years, local artists have sought out to compete in this unique live art competition. The event features five competitors who have 90 minutes to create original works of art from a shared supply table and a mystery box. Attendees watch art in action and have the opportunity to take these pieces home by participating in a live auction.
The evening also offers a silent auction with one-of-a-kind items that are locally crafted, food by Heroes Sports Bar & The Royal Scam, entertainment by Disco Lemonade, and flowing libations! Doors open at 6pm.

🐶These Babies Need a Mommy (or a Daddy) 😺
From Krewe de Rescue:
“Meet Heidi and Seal
They are four-month-old lab mix puppies that were dumped in a rural area. These sweet babies are ready for their forever homes! Heidi is a total water girl and is obsessed with the tennis balls already. Seal loves to play tug with a rope, but he will chase balls and get in the pool too. Heidi has discovered that being held equals cuddles and love so she loves it and goes limp like a marshmallow or something. Seal is a little more reserved and starting to crawl onto his foster mom’s lap now. He does love some good scratching and petting, and massages and all that! Both of these babies are so sweet! Please complete the application HERE if you are interested. Our adoption fee is $175 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, spay/neuter and a microchip.”
