The City needs to act soon if we’re to address our growing coyote problem. These critters are showing up not just at nighttime anymore.

As of now, the City doesn’t have to do anything unless people submit videos of coyotes being violent. Should we really have to wait for these occurrences? Not when our pets are in danger!

On a jollier note, Mobile residents are making sure that our troops aren’t left forgotten this approaching holiday season. They’re rustling up some care packages.

The US has ended some of its most conspicuous conflicts, like Afghanistan, so our troops don’t get as much attention these days.

We need to remember our brave protectors and let them know that they’re appreciated for their service.

These care packages will be sent to Kosovo and Syria.

And let’s keep the good news rolling.

The Alabama Inclusion Project is moving to collect feedback from the LGBTQ+ members of our community.

There’s always something to be improved when it comes to how we interrelate with each other. And the first step of this progress is knowing about their negative and positive experiences within the community at large.

The collected information will be used by partnering groups and businesses in realigning their priorities, resources, and funding.

And we end on a more somber note with a death of a manatee. It was struck by a boat.

I’m only bringing this up because boaters should know that they should always have a designated manatee spotter on board to avoid these incidents. Wearing polarized sunglasses will help in better spotting them too.

❤ Do Some Good, Mobile

A letter from our owner...

Did you know there were over 1,000 nonprofits in Mobile?! Do you know all the good they are doing for our community daily??For example...

  • meals for those in need

  • education resources

  • clothing and interview prepping for those in need of jobs

  • teaching foundational life skills

  • taking care of children who are sick

  • paying medical bills for those who can not afford healthcare

  • advocating for sexually and physically abused children

The list goes on...Brooks and I may not have a ton of money to donate, and we may not have a ton if extra time. But what we do have is this platform!

The Mobile Rundown’s goal with our Do Some Good Mobile publication is to educate the public on all the organizations in our area that are doing some good and connect YOU with ways to get involved!!

We are going into our 5th year of Do Some Good, and I want to make this our best year yet!! Some organizations can afford to be a part of this magazine, and some can not. That is where I need YOUR HELP! We are looking for individuals and businesses to come alongside us this year to allow us to include AS MANY ORGANIZATIONS AS POSSIBLE!!

If you feel led to help organizations in our community, just reply to this email or reach out.

Yall, more good is being done in Mobile than you will ever hear about on the news— I promise!

Help me keep it going!!

And if you are a nonprofit that wants to be included, please let me know!

- Mandee Conkle
