Be The Change Gulf Coast is a 501c3 charity committed to helping members of our community who find themselves struggling when an unexpected challenge forces them to choose between necessities. Founded by Shelli Bell, who through her work with several non-profits has seen firsthand how $100 can change the trajectory of a person’s life, Be The Change Gulf Coast seeks to help those who are trying to help themselves. We help people in need of one-time, smaller monetary amounts that can change the trajectory of their lives. Other local nonprofits reach out to us for help from time to time. When individuals contact us directly, we have a social worker on our board to vet requests. No paid staff, all volunteers helping our community. Please join our hive! It’s easy to help. We have an initial mission to find 5,000 people in our area willing to give just $2 a month on auto draft. That’s right… just TWO DOLLARS per month. This amount is so small you’ll never miss it. “We got Pigeon when he was just a few weeks old. His mom was a stray and she quit nursing him and his sister. He was bottle-fed until he could eat on his own. His sister has been adopted, and he wants a family of his own. He is a laid-back little 4-month-old boy who loves cuddles and naps. His mom is a doxie mix. Pigeon weighs 15 pounds and will probably be a medium-sized dog when full grown. Although he is calm, don't be fooled, he still has lots of energy to play. He would love a home with someone who loves snuggles and snacks just like him. Our adoption fee is $175 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, a neuter and a microchip.
