Now onto a bit of news...

Saying farewell to the cruise ship Ecstacy will be bittersweet, but we have The Carnival Spirit to look forward to next year. This timely upgrade is pretty emotional for some Mobilians who made memories on the former cruise ship.

Speaking of water-related activities, please take extra caution if you’re an avid beachgoer. “Pink Meanies” have been spotted along the Gulf Coast! Captivating as they are, you do not want an up-close encounter with these jellyfish.

It’s good to be a student in Mobile, with UM’s ratings soaring in a recent Niche evaluation. The quality of life at UM is indeed something to take advantage of, with an emphasis on sports and culture.

If you want to experience a little culture as a non-student, everyone is free to attend two upcoming musical evenings at UM.

Lastly, if you’re a student in the marine sciences, you may want to consider earning credits at The Dauphin Sea Lab next year. It will be an invaluable and unique experience for those who are passionate about oceanic studies.

❤ A Do Some Good Highlight

Flourish is a non-profit organization in Mobile and Baldwin Counties, Alabama, that works with young women who are at risk.

By giving teenagers the tools they need for success, they are helping them realize their full potential.

Free community centers are available for young girls in Daphne to visit each week for educational and personal development programs.

Every month, at least 20 young women from Mobile and Baldwin Counties connect with female mentors in the area to help guide them on their path to success.

There are available workshops on personal growth, creativity, and volunteer work in their community center each week.

Podcast interviews are still being released for Do Some Good Mobile --- the digital version is live now.
