Beer, Budgets, & Church Fires
Hey Mobile,
We hope you're ready for a great week ahead! Our hearts go out to our neighbors over in Florida, as Hurricane Ian was a big one.We know that it can be any of us during any given storm. While we hope for storms not to hit us, our hearts certainly hurt for others when they receive the damage. If you'd like to donate, there are plenty of reputable organizations that can help channel your funds.
Even in that aftermath, it's ok for you to put your face in the sunshine and smile...

🌍Moving? We Can Help!
Now onto a bit of news...
Mobilians were happily drinking like fishes during this year’s Beer Fest. The attendees were given a chance to sample 39 different beers! The weather cooperated nicely, and everything went down without a hitch.
Now, I’m not saying we should cancel trick-or-treating this year, but there is a fentanyl scare associated with Halloween candy.
Senator Tommy Tuberville warns parents to be extra vigilant this year and really examine their kids’ Halloween loots!
On things to look forward to, the fiscal year budget for 2023 has just been released. The city is using 10% more funds than it did last year, so it looks like we’re doing okay.
If you’re a fan of Elisabeth Hasselbeck, now is your chance to catch her live and listen to her speak at the Leadership Banquet at the University of Mobile.
On a more hopeful note, Mobilians now have a new anonymous tip hotline for reporting unlawful activities. We should all keep our eyes peeled and be good citizens to keep our city safe!
And finally, here’s something weird: the Mobile Fire and Rescue Department is investigating a fire that broke out at an abandoned church on Government Blvd.
It looks like we threw everything we had at it, which is an odd, over-the-top response to a random fire. Oh well, at least no one got hurt.

❤ A Do Some Good Highlight
Mobile Arts Council aims to improve the quality of life in the area by enhancing access to the arts and developing an active cultural community.
When the Junior League of Mobile founded the Mobile Arts Council (MAC) in 1955, it became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization seven years later.
MAC’s work developed throughout time to meet the changing demands of the community and its people.
In the early days of founding MAC, it served mainly as a financial source supporting the arts community.
As MAC has progressed, it has become an advocate and promoter of the arts.
Today, the organization acts as a vital hub for Gulf Coast to promote and expose their culture.
They facilitate countless events and chances for artists of different backgrounds and media to showcase and perform.
Podcast interviews are still being released for Do Some Good Mobile --- the digital version is live now.
