The good news of a long weekend only means that it’s a short work week! While the fireworks may be over and the BBQ all gone, that doesn’t mean the fun things to do have to stop. This Friday night, head downtown for July ArtWalk as the theme for this month is celebrating National Tattoo Month and National Drop-A-Rock Day.
You’ll find almost 30 restaurants, shops, and attractions participating in the celebration with everything from live music, shopping, great food and drink, and of course, art!
Bring the kids down to paint a rock, and send a message of kindness or inspiration to others at the Bienville Square rock painting station.
Do you have the best-looking tat in town? Enter the people choice contest for Best Sleeve, Best Half Sleeve, Best Color, Best Black & Grey, and Best Back/Torso. Let’s see what you got!

McKemie Place seems to be the only place in Southwest Alabama where ladies without company can go in case of an emergency.
Formed as an independent organization in 2010 due to the Homeless Coalition response team, it began as a ministry of the United Methodist Inner City Mission.
To remember the memory of James “Jim” McKemie and his dedication to helping the homeless in the town, they decided to rename a new women’s homeless shelter as McKemie Place.
Podcast interviews are still being released for Do Some Good Mobile --- the digital version is live now.
📰 News: 44 gang members + Seafood Restaurant + COVID $$$
Operation Echo Stop (a big brother-ish gunshot detection system) has helped to make some arrests in our area. And 44 of those folks affiliated themselves with different gang groups. Now, they're not operating with organized crime-like precision (Ozarks anyone?) but they are teaming up in crews and committing crime.Either way, a great chance to love on our young people, and give them positive groups to hang with. Gun violence makes us 😢
Bailey's Restaurant (inventor of the West Indie's Salad so the story goes) closed down last month. So as you're driving down to Dauphin Island, you'll need to make alternate plans for your giant crab claw needs.
People are still getting busted for defrauding COVID funded programs. Can you believe it? Who knows how many are still floating around out there?!?
Of course, we like to show you who got busted in Mobile, AL also, but not exactly busted for what you think...
