First, a bit of news... (no murders or weapons included -- sorry, you'll have to read that elsewhere...)
Everyday, we inch closer and closer to getting back to normal after the pandemic. And it shows in the many improvements made to Downtown Mobile.
Residents and tourists are eager to patronize the new businesses that are popping up everywhere. If you were getting a bit bored with what Downtown had to offer, this news might get you out of the house again.
And as Halloween fast approaches, one thing you could do downtown is visit the newly opened Sweet Dreams Haunted Attraction.
Itās a fully decked-out Victorian mansion that has made a couple of its visitors pee their pants!
If youād rather enjoy more cultured pursuits, you can catch a little Shakespeare at the UM College Woods Auditorium. The kids are putting on Macbeth, which is perfect because itās easily The Bard of Avonās spookiest play.
Not much of a horror fan? Foodie beach lovers can hit two birds with one stone at the Coastal Alabama Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival at Gulf Shores.
You can get your eat and drink on as you savor the sights and sounds of the Gulf of Mexico. Bring the kids!
Traveling to Gulf Shores by car wouldnāt be a problem, especially considering how our local government takes care of our roadways.
Again, we are asked to greenlight the Pay-As-You-Go Program that keeps our roads and bridges in tip-top shape. We should all do our part to ease traffic congestion in Mobile.
Lastly, if your kid dreams of having a career in Aviation, Students enrolled in Bishop Stateās Aviation Manufacturing Technology dual enrollment program will travel to Flight Works Alabama and Airbus.
This exercise is meant to spark the interest of our young people and entice them into careers in aviation.
The industry has around 800,000 vacant positions every month. It might be a fantastic career choice for youths who are into flying and building things.

ā¤ A Do Some Good Highlight
College sorority sisters Dr. Dee Dupree Bennett and Monica Anderson Young came together with the idea of SHORT the Squirrel to help Alabamaās youngest residents learn to read and write.
Alabama courtrooms do not allow gadgets inside.
It led Attorney McRae Young to come up with the literacy program.
Young and Monicaās daughter noticed that youngsters attending court lacked resources to occupy themselves.
Years ago, McRAE and Monica co-wrote an online column for young readers specializing in childrenās books.
Monicaās experience as a former school principal and Troy University professor helped her recruit Dr. Bennett to create an activity booklet.
Both ladies came up with SHORT, a curious squirrel that wants to assist youngsters in learning more about their immediate environment.
Podcast interviews are still being released for Do Some Good Mobile --- here's the digital version. (we're already gearing up for the 2023 edition!)
